ISO 3012 - Mercaptan Sulfur
We perform fuel quality testing by ISO 3012 to determine the mercaptan sulfur content in gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, and in other distillate fuels. Mercaptan sulfur has an objectionable odor, an adverse effect on fuel system elastomers, and is corrosive to fuel system components. This method is applicable to gasoline, kerosines, aviation turbine fuels, and distillate fuels containing from 0.0003 to 0.01 mass % of mercaptan sulfur.
We also perform sulfur analysis by ASTM D129, ASTM D2622, ASTM D3227, ASTM D4294, ASTM D5623, ASTM D5453, ASTM D7039, IP 61, IP 342, and UOP 163. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
