MIL-PRF-83282 §4.4.3 - Compatibility of Hydraulic Oils
We perform lubricants testing by military specification MIL-PRF-83282, which includes testing the compatibility of hydraulic oils. This test measures the compatibility of hydraulic oils by mixing a sample with a hydraulic oil that is known to meet all of the requirements listed in MIL-PRF-83282 - Hydraulic Fluid Specification, MIL-H-5606 - Hydraulic Fluid Specification, and MIL-PRF-87257 - Hydraulic Fluid Specification. After mixing the hydraulic oils and storing the mixture at several different temperatures for a certain amount of time, the mixed hydraulic oil is examined for signs of sediment, turbidity, or crystallization.
We also perform compatibility testing by ASTM D7752, FTM 3403, MIL-G-81322 §4.5.3, MIL-PRF-46170 §4.5.2, MIL-PRF-87252 §4.5.4, MIL-PRF-87257 §4.4.3, and MIL-PRF-9000 §4.6.3. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
